Coming soon to the App Store

Line drawing of a floor plan corner with a dimension line and snap markers, drawn in the style of a cyanotype print. AB 16'-0" 12'-6½"
Illustration. App Store screenshots will appear here at launch.

What it does

Built for the drawings people actually send: real layouts, xrefs, annotative scales and odd fonts. When something cannot be drawn, Cyanfold tells you.

  • DWG and DXF, read properly

DWG R14 to 2018 and ASCII DXF. Blocks and attributes, hatches, dimensions, multileaders, tables, linetypes and lineweights.

  • Layouts at true scale

Every layout on its sheet, with clipped and rotated viewports. Tap a viewport to read its scale, for example 1/4" = 1'-0".

  • Layers

Turn layers on and off and watch the drawing change as you go. Isolate one layer with Pro.

  • Measure with snaps

Endpoint, midpoint, centre and intersection snaps with a magnifier. Feet and inches with real fractions, decimal or metric, converted on the spot. Distance is free; area, angle and radius come with Pro.

  • Markup

A freehand pen on the free tier. With Pro: highlighter, text notes, arrows, revision clouds, shapes and measurements placed on the drawing. Stored beside the drawing, never inside it.

  • Export PNG, PDF and DXF

PNG of the view or a whole sheet, with a small watermark on the free tier. With Pro: no watermark, vector PDF to scale, and DXF, including converting DWG to DXF. The DXF export reports what it wrote and what it simplified.

  • Hide objects

Hide what should not be seen, on screen and in exports. The original file is never changed. With Pro.

  • Xrefs and ZIP projects

Give access to a project folder in Files, iCloud Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive and references resolve on their own. ZIP packages open as one project.

  • Find text

Search text, attributes, dimension text and table cells across every layout and xref, grouped by sheet.

  • Nothing silently missing

A missing reference, a substituted font or an object that cannot be drawn is listed in the Missing Items panel, with a way to fix it.

  • Units and paper for your region

Feet and inches with ARCH and ANSI sheets in the US, metric with ISO A sizes elsewhere. Change it any time.

  • iPhone, iPad and Mac

One app on all three. Pencil hover previews the snap on iPad; the Mac has menus and keyboard shortcuts for every tool.

  • In nine languages

English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Korean, with the CAD terms each language uses.

  • Revision compare

See what changed between two versions of a sheet. With Pro.

  • Quantity takeoff

Count blocks and sum lengths and areas, then export the list. With Pro.

  • Title block to CSV

Collect sheet numbers, titles and revisions from title blocks into a spreadsheet. With Pro.

  • Saved views

Name a zoomed area and jump back to it.

  • PDF viewing

Open PDF drawing sets next to your DWG files.

  • Folders and tags

Organise the library with your own folders and tags. Smart folders come with Pro.

  • Spotlight

Find drawings in your library from system search.

  • Shortcuts

Open, export and convert drawings from the Shortcuts app.

Screenshots

Real screenshots from the app will be published with the App Store release.

Four themes for the canvas

A theme changes how the drawing is shown, never the file. Exports follow the theme on screen, or Paper for printing.

  • Graphite

The default. The drawing's own colours on a dark ground, with faint colours lifted until they are readable.

  • Paper

Monochrome ink on white, like a plotted sheet. Lineweights are kept; screened colours stay grey.

  • Blueprint

White lines on cyanotype blue. Hierarchy comes from lineweight alone.

  • Original

Full index colours on a dark model-space ground, exactly as stored.

Your drawings stay on your device

Drawings are opened, measured, marked up and exported on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. We have no server that could receive them.

Read the Privacy Policy

  • No account. No sign-in, no e-mail address needed.
  • No uploads. File names, folders, contents and hashes are never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Ads only where you can see them coming. On the free tier on iPhone and iPad, ads appear when a drawing opens or closes, never while you work. No ads on Mac, none with Pro.
  • Your limits live in your iCloud. The daily count is kept in your own iCloud Keychain, which we cannot read.

Free and Pro

Viewing is accurate and complete on the free tier, with distance measuring and a pen for markup. Pro adds every other tool.

72-hour Pro features preview

When your first drawing opens, every Pro feature unlocks for 72 hours. No payment details, and nothing renews by itself. The daily drawing limit and ads stay as on the free tier during the preview.

Questions

Does Cyanfold upload my drawings?

No. Everything happens on your device and we have no server. If you send us a problem report, you choose in your mail app what to attach.

Which files can it open?

DWG files from R14 to the 2018 format (AC1014–AC1032), which current CAD software still saves, and ASCII DXF. ZIP packages of a drawing with its references open as a project. PDF viewing is coming.

Is it free?

Yes. Every day your first new drawing opens free. On iPhone and iPad two more open after a short ad you choose to watch; on Mac three a day open with no ads. A drawing you opened in the last 30 days always reopens and is never counted.

What happens after the 72-hour preview?

Pro tools lock again the next time you return to the library, never in the middle of a drawing. Everything you made stays: markups, measurements and exports are yours.

Can I edit drawings?

No. Cyanfold is a viewer. Markup is stored next to the drawing and never written into your file. To pass a drawing on, export PNG, PDF or DXF.

Can I build from measurements taken in the app?

Treat every measurement as a check, not as the record. Before you build, order or file anything, confirm dimensions against the original drawing and the responsible professional's documents.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Opening, measuring, markup and export all work without a connection. If an ad cannot load, the drawing opens anyway.
